Kylyn's Story

Hi my name is Kylyn, it means unicorn. I am 14 now. I can’t remember not being at the ranch. It was always fun and the riding was great. I had won 2 saddles by the time I was 10. But it wasn’t just the riding, I got to help bring new babies into the world and teach the other new comers younger and older how to do things. We had fun just hanging out talking to each other. I hope Grams puts one of the pictures of me teaching my new baby sisters to ride up here. They are twins and so cute. They already love the horses. I wish the ranch was going to be here for them too. I am doing good. I have replaced the horses with other sports like, volleyball and basketball, but it is really not the same, the balls can’t love me back. I am going into the ninth grade but will start high school in the varsity league in both sports. I made MVP in both sports. I have to keep up the sports so I can get a scholarship to become a teacher. That is all I have ever wanted to be since I was in kindergarten. I don’t know what I would have been like if not for grandma and the ranch, but I know I am a better person because of it. I wish everyone could have the same kind of life as we had there. Then maybe so many kids wouldn’t be so darn stupid. Not all the kids that came there stayed, and some just couldn’t follow the rules, there were only 2, but that is their loss. I still want to go up to the new ranch as much as I can, but I practice 4 days a week and play 6 to 9 games on the weekends. So I don’t get much time to go anywhere, but Grams always told us *if you want something bad enough, sit down figure out what it will take to get it and don’t stop till you do*. It hurts not to go up there and see everyone, especially my horse Foxey Lady. But I know my folks won’t have the money for me to go to college and I HAVE to do that. I WILL be someone special and make a difference in kid’s life one way or the other. I am special, all kids are. It is just a matter of showing them how to be themselves. If I don’t follow my dreams then I am nothing and I have been brainwashed into believing I am special, so there for I am special. Hay Grams when you look at these pictures of me remember I LoVE YoU !! I will call you as soon as I get 3 or more days off. I hope you can get the gas money to come down here and get me so I can come up and spend some time with you and Pa and Foxey.
